Official Terms and Conditions
Harbourside RibFest 2026 • Effective July 2026
1. Sponsor
This contest is sponsored and administered by Harbourside RibFest, a community fundraiser organized by Rotary Halifax Harbour ("the Sponsor").
2. Contest Period
The contest begins on July 3, 2026 and closes at 11:59 p.m. Atlantic Time (AT) on July 5, 2026. Entries received after the contest closing time will not be eligible for the prize draw.
3. Eligibility
The contest is open to residents of Canada and visitors to Harbourside RibFest from other countries.
Entrants must be at least nineteen (19) years of age at the time they redeem the prize and check in at the hotel. The winner may be required to provide proof of age and identity before the prize is awarded.
Void where prohibited by law.
4. How to Enter
No purchase is necessary to enter or win.
Participants may receive entries as follows:
- One (1) entry by completing the People's Choice voting form and short survey during Harbourside RibFest 2026.
- One (1) additional entry by subscribing to the Harbourside RibFest newsletter.
- One (1) additional entry by following Harbourside RibFest on an official Harbourside RibFest social media account.
A maximum of three (3) entries per person is permitted.
Only one survey submission per person and per email address is permitted. A valid email address is required to participate.
5. Prize
The prize has no cash value, is non-transferable, and may not be redeemed for cash or substituted, except at the sole discretion of the Sponsor.
The prize must be redeemed within one (1) year of the draw date and is subject to availability and any conditions imposed by the prize provider.
All expenses not specifically stated as part of the prize, including transportation, incidentals, additional meals, gratuities, and other personal expenses, are the sole responsibility of the winner.
6. Prize Draw
One (1) winner will be selected by random draw on or about July 6, 2026, from all eligible entries received.
The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received.
7. Winner Notification and Claiming the Prize
The selected entrant will be notified by email using the email address provided on their entry form.
To be declared the winner, the selected entrant must:
- Respond to the notification email within thirty (30) days;
- Correctly answer, without assistance of any kind, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question administered by the Sponsor; and
- Confirm their eligibility and acceptance of these terms and conditions.
If the selected entrant cannot be contacted, fails to respond within thirty (30) days, fails to correctly answer the skill-testing question, declines the prize, or is otherwise determined to be ineligible, the Sponsor reserves the right to select an alternate entrant.
8. Privacy
Personal information collected through this contest will be used solely for the administration of the contest and for purposes expressly consented to by the participant, including newsletter subscriptions.
By entering this contest, participants agree to the collection, use, and disclosure of their personal information in accordance with the Harbourside RibFest Privacy Statement, available at:

9. Consent to Marketing Communications
Subscribing to the Harbourside RibFest newsletter is optional and is not required to enter the contest.
Participants will only receive marketing emails if they expressly opt in. Consent may be withdrawn at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in any newsletter email.
10. Publicity
By accepting the prize, the winner agrees that Harbourside RibFest and Rotary Halifax Harbour may use the winner's first name, last initial, and city or town of residence for promotional purposes, including on social media and the Harbourside RibFest website, without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law.
11. Technical Issues and Limitation of Liability
The Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, illegible, misdirected, delayed, or undelivered entries, or for any technical malfunction, computer error, website failure, internet interruption, or other error that may affect participation in the contest.
By participating, entrants release and hold harmless Rotary Halifax Harbour, Harbourside RibFest, and the Westin Nova Scotian, and their respective directors, officers, volunteers, employees, agents, and representatives from any liability arising out of participation in the contest or the acceptance, use, or misuse of the prize.
The Westin Nova Scotian is not a sponsor or administrator of this contest.
12. Fraud and Verification
The Sponsor reserves the right to verify the eligibility of any entrant and may disqualify any person who tampers with the entry process, submits multiple entries beyond the permitted limit, uses automated means to enter, or otherwise violates these rules.
Entries generated by scripts, bots, or other automated means are prohibited and will be disqualified.
13. General Conditions
The Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, modify, suspend, or terminate the contest, or amend these rules, if fraud, technical failures, or any other factor beyond the Sponsor's reasonable control impairs the proper administration of the contest.
If the advertised prize becomes unavailable for any reason, the Sponsor reserves the right to substitute the prize with another prize of equal or greater value.
All decisions of the Sponsor regarding the administration of the contest, eligibility of entrants, and selection of the winner are final and binding.
14. Social Media Disclaimer
This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook, Instagram, or any other social media platform used in connection with the contest.
15. Governing Law
This contest is governed by the laws of the Province of Nova Scotia and the laws of Canada applicable therein.
16. Acceptance of Rules
By entering this contest, participants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Official Terms and Conditions and by all decisions of the Sponsor.
